You can first decrease resolution by sampling one for 3 ( 9 times ) or
one for 5 maybe pixels, and do it clever way - interpolating
neighborhood, and try to find a shape on the smaller image. Then just
determine coordinates of the "sign" on the biger picture analytically.
It should make the algorithm faster pro****tionally to the number of
pixels in the image.
