Gjenna:
If it's true "distortion" then the delta radial distance the point got
moved is pro****tional to the radius cubed.  If it includes other
aberrations, then it gets more complicated.  Someone told me that for
common photographer lenses (like you' put on Nikon and Canon SLR's),
there are known corrections that can be applied.  These corrections
can be called up and applied in photo editing packages - for example
DxO Optics (http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,1897613,00.asp).
 You
plug in the lens model and some parameters like what F-stop you used
and focal length (if it's a zoom) and it will do the correction for
you based on those known correction parameters for that particular
lens.
