Infrared imaging has been tried for decades to attempt to detect
cancer, in particular breast cancer. Last I saw, it did not work
because it was too unreliable and non-specific. Body tissues get hot
or cold for a lot of different causes than just cancer. For example,
any cut or rash, causes tissue to become hot and inflamed as part of
the healing process.
