Assuming that the thing is a Sony Trinitron from the nineties: there are
quite a lot (10 - 12) controls and potmeters inside the housing.
Adjusting the image is difficult and time consuming because these controls
are interdependent. It is also rather dangerous because you might
accidentally touch high voltage parts.

If I were you, I'd let an television or monitor technician do the job in
exchange for (lots of) beer.
