Thanks a lot for your reply, I asked the client to do a "uname -R" on
his machine and the output is as follows :
them: 6.5 6.5.3m
mine: 6.5 6.5.14f
So basically, that does corroborate what you were saying, they are
running a much older version of IRIX on their machine and should
upgrade.
