As far as I know, all QT Player, Pro or not-Pro does, is provides a GUI 
to the built-in capabilities of QuickTIme. I don't think that providing 
a playback window and a bunch of menus to existing libraries is a great 
bargain at $29.95. To be honest, I own a QT Pro license also, but I'm
lazy.

Given all the programming tools that Apple provides, including the 
QuickTime framework, the equivalent shareware product on MacOS X from a 
3rd party developer would cost $5, though no-one can afford to charge 
that little. Call it a $10 item to cover the overhead of Paypal and so on.
