That's the answer! Problem solved. Thanks a million for that.
One thing that was compounding the situation was that I was blurring
the texture using Photoshop before using it for displacement. Because
this bluring does not have the option of filtering across the seam,
the artifact reappears since a discontinuity gets baked into the
texture pixels prior to tdlmake doing it's thing.
Note, I tried blurring with tdlmake's "-blur N" option for values of
2, 4, and 8 but at render time I notice little if any actual
blurring.
Anyway, the blurring issue is a minor issue that I'll just futz with
and solve. Finding a solution for the seam artifact is a BIG help.
