	Extruded letters are not what we normally see unless one is an old timer
who uses actual lead based 
type for printing. It is not used in any kind of jewelry at all as the
surface is always buffed and 
polished therefore curved. I can show you how to do it in Povray but not
in Lightwave of which I 
know nothing. In Povray it is the intersection of a ttf letter with a
curved surface which is then 
given a texture. The method and definitions in Lightwave will certainly
vary but that is the general 
method. And if like Povary, a 1.00001 extrusion is as good a a mile.
