Need help

by "Atul Thombre" <athombre@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 12, 2008 at 05:02 PM

Hello,

I am new to this group and new to 3D modeling.

I am a software developer capable of developing applications. I am
currently
working on an application that requires placing various objects in a room,

similar to an "interior designing" application. The application will then
analyze the airflow within the room based on the configuration of the
objects and display it in a separate view.

So, I am looking for a 3D modeling library that is capable of
    - designing various objects (which look like real objects or close to
it) and place them in a room. The activity of designing objects is a
one-time activity since the gallery of objects is limited.
    - moving those objects, rotating those objects within the room.
    - viewing the room at any angle, from top, from side, etc.
    - Showing the air-flow contours, similar to a whether channel map, but

3D.

And all of this should be exposed through a set of API functions, either
in
C/C++ or .Net. I am willing to pay for the development license, but it
should allow me unlimited free runtime licenses.

I have looked at Blender, OpenFX, 3D canvas, and ActiViz. Out of those,
Activiz is close to qualifying to the above criteria.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Atul.
