john,

If you want to rotate one object around a specific point, you need to
move the pivot point. Then you just change to local coordinates and
use the align tool against the line. As for how to move the pivot
point of the box to where the a line intersects it, I don't know how
to do that programmatically.

Sorry if this isn't what you're trying to do. Feel free to clarify in
private email if necessary.
