That's light leaking through. There isn't anything you can do about it.
The 
backlight is always on, unlike in a CRT where the electron beam can be 
switched off for the black parts.

If the signal timing from the computer is a bit wrong, that compensates
for 
it. Many LCD monitors have an "auto" adjustment that should set it to the 
optimum value.
