Many versions of Photoshop have built-in option to create light-source
(check with the built-in plug-in or whatever it's called) and you may find
several.
If the version doesn't have one and it it sup****ts LAYER then you should
be able to create any type of light-source you wish. I remember even on
older version than v7 I was learning to create Light Beams/Rays
