Are you using the in-built PDF option?? If so, trying printing to an
EPS file and then running that through Distiller manually.

You could also try:
   - moving the first page to the end of the do***ent to see if
     the new first page of the now last page still has the problem,

   - deleting the first page and recreating it from scratch.
