The Picture Palette is a standard part of PageMaker, so it gets
installed even on versions of PageMaker that did not come with clipart
- people can add their own items to it (not neccessarily just images).
A "Full Install" (if there is an option for it in the installer) will
install all the graphics, which of course take up A LOT of room whereas
the thumbnails take up "no room" at all. On a "Standard Install" it may
include the thumbnails to show you what you're missing out on, while a
"Minimum Install" doesn't bother with the thumbnails either.
A second possibility is that the graphics are on the original CD and
this is where the Picture Palette is trying to access them from.
Usuaully under Windows the computer's hard drive is labelled "C:", so
if this is the case the file path would start with a different letter
to signify the CD drive (eg. "D:").
BUT, as I said, I've never had the clip art version of PageMaker, so
I'm only working on guesswork based on other application installers.
You might be better to ask in the PageMaker section of Adobe's own
forums (it's a free sign-up) at Adobe.com.
