"Love InDesign"?? Maybe, maybe not.

Some things a similar, but others are different, some annoyingly or
unnecessarily too Quark Xpress like.  :o(

I don't know there's any "grief", although you will probably go through
a stage (long or short) of simply giving up or going straight to
PageMaker for urgent work. Then again once you discover how easy PDFs
are to make you may decide that it's not worth using PageMaker when you
know you're going to have to make a PDF in the end.

There is some learning to do, as well as hunting around to find the
particular tool / function you want. You do have to learn to work in a
different manner that's not as free-flowing as in PageMaker.
