Q: on setting up a layout in Pagemaker 7.0

by "spaceyjane" <spaceyjane(nospam)@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (nospam)gmail.com> Mar 3, 2007 at 11:39 AM

Hi everyone! I am inspired by the template from StockLayouts (seen here:
http://www.stocklayouts.com/Products/Details.aspx?name=MD0130301
) but I
truly can't afford them, and thus I'm hoping to try to recreate the
elements
I like for a quartely community newsletter that we need to do. Our old
templates are dull and really uninspiring, and I'd like to achieve a look
similar to these (
http://www.stocklayouts.com/Products/Newsletter/Newsletter-Template-Design-Library.aspx?kwid=14
)
but honestly, I'm new at Adobe Pagemaker (I've used PrintShop up until
now)
and so it's a learning curve I'm trying to embrace.

My question is, how exactly (for the first link above) did they do the
pages
2&3 joined such that their picture has no margin in the middle, if that
makes sense? Thus far I have opened a do***ent, chosen the tabloid layout

(11x17), but don't really understand how to set the inside margin... do I
just choose 0.0? One thing that confuses me when I do that is that I
cannot
for the life of me figure out how to see the opposing pages on display on
my
screen (the little page ques at the bottom left of the screen aren't
there,
and I cannot find how to make two pages visable side by side on my
desktop.
Can you help me?

I wish those layouts templates weren't so pricey, but, I can see why they
are :)

Are there any online tutorials that I'm missing on how to set these types
of
newsletters and such up?

Any help you could give me would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks!
