The problem appears to be with your computer rather than PageMaker.
PageMaker is doing the correct thing since it believes the files have
been changed. It could be your backup application or it could be
something the operating system is doing ... unfortunately because Adobe
killed off PageMaker it does have some quirks under newer versions of
the operating system. :o(
