You're trying to open it with the same program you saved it with? Try
moving the file (the whole folder if it has linked images, etc.) from
the CD to your computer's hard drive. Check that the extension is what
you think it is (rather than, say, .zip). If it is a .zip or .rar file,
extract it first. Use the File > Open command rather than
double-clicking the file in Windows Explorer. If all of that fails, try
opening it from InDesign.
