It is specifically designed to do exactly what you want to do.

There are 2 versions.
One is a plug-in for Autocad 8
And the other version has it built into an OEM version of Autocad 8
for $2500 you get a version of Autocad that suposedly has everything we 
might need plus the LDA features.

It does most any schedule you might want down to cable runs if you like
and you can build light cues right in the software.
It has full visualization with photometric lights (including movers)

One of the coolest parts is that you can connect your lighting console to 
the computer
and create your whole show.

I own it but haven't gotten my head around Autocad yet so I can't speak
from 
experiance.
