id disagree that its from years and years of study
theres guys i work with who've figured out how to model like this really
quickly in 3D studio and Lightwave
theres some nice techniques being used there, but its nothing vastly out
of
the ordinary for todays standards and software capabilities
the one thing you need is a real strong passion for creating something
like
this, you'll find the tools to do the job if its what you want.
id say that image is purely 3d, no digital photography at all, and should
be
acheivable with a few solid months software practise
best thing you can do is find someone to help guide you, otherwise, search
search search for good tutorials
pretty much any 3d package these days can get you to that level.
i hope you get into it and go for it! its a great artform id recommend to
anyone!
