Ah! Right. My bad. So is there any way to get a transperent variable color
fill in a scatter plot at all? That would go a long way in making my plots
more accessible.

Ah! Didn't realize. Now I re-read the manual.
It is interesting that postscript does *not* sup****t transperency but pdf
*does*. Now, when I will finally push the pdf to a printer the language
the
yspeak will be ps again, right? How does that work then. Maybe I don't get
the process correctly.
My desired final output format was, in fact, a pdf. I was using eps2pdf on
the linux command line to act on gnuplot eps output. Maybe I can just
switch to the gnuplot pdf driver and then I'll have access to transperency
natively.
