Thanks Ethan and Tim. I'll probably stick to vertical plots. SOmeone had 
earlier used "Excel" [sic.] to produce a horizontal set. I had the task of

extending his plots in the same format. 

Just curious: Is this functionality absent only because nobody really
needs 
it (vertical plots basically do the job!) ; or is there a more fundamental

problem making horizontal plots.
