It contains a link to another blog post by exactly the
same person. That person seems to have misread
something, because the links are to actual GIMP 2.6
Release Notes that do *NOT* claim that 2.6.0 can edit 16
bit image files, and if fact specifically state that it is
still limited to 8 bit files.
