Hi all!
I often get files from designers that are in PSD format. Gimp sup****t for
PSD is less than perfect ;) (no shadows, text fields do not convert, some
layers vanish - resulting image doesn't look like the original) so I must
have a windows machine with PS installed, which is ***bersome to say the
least.
I have recently found out that imagemagick converts the PSD files to PNG
(main image + an image per layer) without problems. This is a big step
forward for me (no more PS), but it is still difficult to manipulate such
image in Gimp (no text layers). Unfortunaltely imagemagick has no XCF
write
sup****t.
Also, KolourPaint opens up the image without problems, but it doesn't
sup****t layers so imagemagick does a better job for me.
Are there any plans to add better PSD read sup****t to Gimp?
Thanks,
Anze
