Tyler,
When I first started toying with graphic software, I read everything I
could find, I visited many websites and learned a great amount of
valuable information. I also completed a lot of tutorials, that enabled
me to use a new language and establish a graphic vocabulary.
I believe I did every tutorial on www.myjanee.com/tutorials.htm three or
four times after I purchased photoshop... She was invaluable with her
guidence...
But after a while I found I was not stretching myself technically. I
spent about a year and participated in various graphic weekly contests,
that had a similar theme, last weeks winner offered up a one two or more
images as a source and you created a picture or wallpaper in competition
with other contestants...
I found this a good method to expand my education into a decent working
knowledge. It helped me improve my photo editing, trying to create a
wallpaper in A.B.Pictures.wallpaper. Or a picture in alt.binaries.comp-
graphics (Sabba was a patient friendly participant)
Tentatively I started posting a few ****trait asking for criticism in
A.B.photos.****tfolios and paid special attention to what the photo
processors were said about my photos... Jerry D. was a very open
sharing his technique, I found Barry a MAC user full of constructive
criticism... Old Man was also helpful...
I used a pictures group also: not for ****traits, http://abpo.net/
faq.shtml. I found F22, to be wonderful help, with my composition and
we still correspond weekly...
I am new to Linux and still learning all the graphic tools in this
realm... Gimp being one...
