Using Alpha for non-transparent images

by Snake-Arsenic <snakearsenic@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 18, 2008 at 09:27 PM

Is there any way to disable the alpha being used for transparency in
GIMP?

The reason I ask this is because some of the images I will be creating
will use the alpha channel for bump mapping and the transparency makes
editing the diffuse(RGB channels) difficult.

It is also im****tant that the bump maps match the diffuse as closely
as possible and the most logical way to do that is to have both in the
same image.

If there is no way to do this then please let me know and consider
this a feature request.
