Matching grayscale jpeg to specific color scale

by KevinC <kevincressy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 15, 2008 at 04:38 AM

Hi everyone,

I am new to GIMP so am not sure if my terminology is correct here!

I have found a free web site template that has a gray color scheme -
however I would like to change the color scheme to green shade.

The web site banners are broken into 5 pieces.

I am currently trying to change the banner colors to green. The main
central piece of the banner is a solid gray. I have had no problem
with changing this color as I have simply changed it using the
foreground fill tool and changed it to my green colour of RGB: (204,
221, 187). However the problem I am having is with the corner parts
of the banner. These corner parts fade from gray to white. What I
need to do is match the bulk of the jpeg to my green colour (which
accounts for about 90% of the jpeg), and then have the corners fade
from this specific green into white.

I have tried colorize but it doesn't seem to allow me to pick my
specific green color.

Any idea how I could achieve this in GIMP?

Thanks in advance.

Kevin
