well ... I've joined an openSUSE listserv ... they've compiled it, and
they're going to offer the package, but they absolutely cannot offer the
proprietary and patent-en***bered modules that it takes to build the
product.
If they offer it, it will be scaled back. ... from what I've seen, gap
needs a serious update, anyway. Their ffmpeg is well out of date, as
are many of the libraries that they use.
