How to select image and remove it from another

by dedek <dedek@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 16, 2008 at 04:13 PM

Hi,

My friend gave me 2 images on 2 transparent layers. First is OK, but
another
is joined with first and I have to split them.
Now is:
img1 = img1
img2 = img1 + img2

On Photoshop I do: select non-transparent layer1, move selection to layer2
and remove selected image.

How can I do it on Gimp? I try: select (with tolerance tool) trasparent
area
on layer1, than inverse selection (ctrl-I) - I have what I need, but when
I
move to layer2 selection spreads to whole layer2 (layer2 is bigger than
layer1) :/// How to avoid spreading selection? The same is when I select
whole area on small layer - I receive small square, but when I want to
copy
this selection to bigger layer, selection spreads.

Regards,
d
