They really are tiny. - 81x54 gif files.
Next, I think by 3D you mean perhaps "waving in the wind"
try
1. change the canvas size and move image so that there is a border
around the .gif
2. change the image mode to RGB.
3. look in filters -> distorts for the curve-bend filter.
4. apply this filter. I have upped an example to
