Maya: set driven key problem...

by enrique <enrique0210@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 5, 2008 at 01:18 AM

I'm working through the book "Learning MAYA Foundation" by Alias and
got stuck in Lesson 2! Sheesh... :(

In this lesson, we animate a ball bouncing across a plane and jumping
through a hoop. A sqash deformer is applied to the ball (pg 48) which
should be driven by the ball's Translate Y value. I can't get the
Transform attributes into the upper DRIVER box. The only objects that
get in there are ballShape and ballShapeOrig. So, the only driver type
of attributes that show up are things like:
caching, nodeState, boundingBoxMinX, etc. Not what the tutorial wants
me to do.

Worse is that this book seems to be a manual without an author, so s/he
can't be contacted should there be errors in the text. Does anyone
have any clues about this functionality that I'm overlooking?

Thanks,
eag
