Maya Not displaying correctly!

Hi, this had happened to me in ver 6.5 as well.  Using autodesk maya
8.5..

What Happens:

when i create a new scene from now on...  even when i set settings
back to normal.  I make a new scene or open an old one and it looks
like parts of my objects (nurbs, polys..) are being cut off at a
certian focal point.  I have to be very close to see parts...
imagine, that you can only see 5 feet in front of you, everything else
is invisible...  that is what its like.  This has happened twice after
about two weeks. I have reinstalled once already...

Please help, if some one has had this happen before!

This is a legit copy off the cd...

Please, have projects to do and Auto desk inst being very helpfull
