Hello, I have a network with 6 pc and 1 server.
In particular the server is the file repository for others pc.
3 pc is used for drawing with "Autodesk Inventor".
From some months, the drawing pc are slowly.
For example, one of them has following characteristics:
- QuadCore Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2400 MHz
- 2 GB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM
- NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT (512 MB)
- 2 hard disk MAXTOR STM3250310AS (250 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)
- Atheros L1 Gigabit Ethernet 10/100/1000Base-T Controller (funzionante
a 100Mbps)
- Microsoft Windows XP Professional 5.1.2600 (WinXP Retail)
- mother board: Asus P5KPL-VM (2 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 2 DDR2
DIMM, Audio, Video, Gigabit LAN)
One design is composed from two hundred details, each resides on a
different file on the server.
The server and the pc are connected through ethernet LAN 100 Mbps.
- From what depend the slowness of the computers?
- Could the slowness be due to the software program and the complexity
of the design?
