I don't know what the set method does, but

int SoMField::getNum ( void ) const [inline]
returns number of values in this field.

so you can easily look if all your strings were added to the string array.
IIRC the strings are separated by a comma. So

inbox.set("\"msg1\", \"msg2\", \"msg3\"") should work.
