Problem running inventor on linux -- blank windows and flickering examiner

by charles.fox@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Jan 6, 2006 at 10:49 AM

Hi guys, I am new to Inventor. I just installed the RPMs for FC3 from
the SGI site.

It's installed OK (though there was a weird warnign about somethign
requiring a different glibc library, .so.5 instead of .so.6 I think,
annoyingly I didn't write it down at the time :-( ).

However there are problems:

1) when I run 'hello cone' and similar, I just see a blank graphics
window.
2) when I run demos using the examiner, I see blank, but if I rotate, I
see the 3D image flickering in and out of existence. When I stop
scrolling it goes blank again. If I set the object in motion by
dragging it (as opposed to the examiner sliders) I sometime see it more
smoothly but still with some flicker.

Could this be due to that C library warning? Anyone seen this before?

Thanks
Charles
