Ah the semantics of it all ... if he had said "used fonts" in Gmail,
then I'd have understood it the way you did :)
And then the answer would be yes. Right under "attach a file" is "Rich
Formatting", with a font dropdown that on my system lists ONLY
Normal
Times New Roman
Arial
Courier New
Georgia
Trebuchet
Verdana
in a choice of 4 sizes - small, Normal, Large, and Huge.
If he's asking whether you can add to that list, I have no idea.
