The question was not about attaching fonts; it may have been about 
embedding fonts in rich text (not being a gmail user, I'm not sure, but 
I highly doubt it); or it may have been about displaying one's own 
incoming mail in a font of the user's choice (presumably doable, 
depending on the client used).
