This is definately your best option. I use it all the time on Linux and
Solaris but it is effectively a photoshop clone with many of the same
features so you will have no trouble finding out where things are and what
they do. This is the main point of GIMP is that if your familiar with
Photoshop then you will feel right at home using this software.
