Tablets and other pointing devices

by Jeremy Brown <jeremy@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Aug 6, 2005 at 10:50 AM

Hi all - this is my first post so I am not sure if this is the right
area, but here goes...

Is there anybody in this group who can help me with a tablet
problem - I have this beautiful serial ****t tablet that has configurable
"clickable" tablet menus. I use a driver supplied by vti (ver 6).

All is well in cad and modelling programs, but when I load CD12 or
Photoshop they seems
to install its own pesky wintab driver that
1) Is clearly visible as a tablet task
2) Is locked
3) Sends my 3 screen cursor all over the place with a definite dividing
line in the center of the middle monitor.
4) Is undo***ented. I mean is there anybody from Corel who knows about
this? There is NOTHING on their sites.
5) Is installed without my consent
6) Is really annoying.

I have searched corel and other sites high and low with zero results for
corel + wintab + many other search terms.
I know it is a rather old technology (Made in arizona in 1993). Does
this mean that valid and still usefull things like this are going to
become unusable that quickly? Do I have to learn to write my own
drivers? is there anyone who can write these kind of drivers? I mean the
tool has very high and accurate resolution, and is still quite functional.
Use a Wacom or other USB tablet you may say, but (although the
overpriced wacom is a beautiful device as well) - it doesnt sup****t
tablet menus as far as I can work out. I would rather have my defined 12
X 12 tablet work area with clickable hotspots for app commands and macros.

Can anyone help - I will trade macros and digitizer information...
Thanks
jb
