pen drops action

by IBPete <IBPete@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 25, 2004 at 08:37 AM

Experts.

I have a problem with my wacom tablet. I hope for some suggestions on
what I might try next to narrow down the root cause.

Problem: pen drops action
Reproducible: Easily reproducible

I can draw a continuous line from 2 to 10 seconds and then it quits. It
appears that an interrupt is coming in and breaking the pen communication.

I have been using this tablet on this PC for over a year (or a similar
model PC for over 4yrs) both stand-alone and with 2 different ****t
replicators with no problems. Our cor****ate IT pushes software, and I
install things from time to time and so it's tough to tell exactly when,
where, and why this problem manifested itself. However, there is one
very strange behavior, this *_anomoly_* only occurs using the wacom
_*pen*_, if I use the Wacom *_mouse _*on the tablet then it *_works
fine_*. I even bought a replacement pen--but that didn't help.

I have been troubleshooting this for hours off and on, have uninstalled
lots of software, have uninstalled all usb hardware and reinstalled only
the usb hardware for the wacom tablet and whatever else windows picks up
with nothing connected. Tried several older wacom driver packages as
well. Tried without using the ****t replicator and all.

So I'm at my wits end. Please let me know if you have any other ideas I
can try.

Here are my specs:
TabletModel: graphire2, 4x5, USB
Driver Version: 4.78
Computer Make/Model: ibm thinkpad t20
Operating System: Windows 2000

TIA Mike
