Like the effect on Adobe Reader for the Highlight text tool (Tools >
Comment & Markups, and select the Highlight Text tool) or just like when
you select a text or double click on it and you get that text in
"reverse colour".

So far I used to create a rectangle shape filled with a solid colour on
a different layer and put it behind the text in order to "simulate" this
"highlight effect".
I just wonder if there is a simpler and easier way, specially if you
need to highlight different words or sentences and want to obtain a
consistent uniform look.
