Jpegs out of illustrator are not an option either. They can't be
edited and are not acceptable for the asian print vendors (who require
v9 ai files). Jpeg files are typically used for proofing, while the ai
files are used for reproduction.
Problem with the preview is a recent Windows "security" update sees
mac files with previews as evil. Uninstalling the update works until
the next morning when microsoft wants to install the update once
again.
Going to try a shared folder on a windows server this morning to see
if that solves the problem. Will re****t back...
