bevel technique like kpt effects

hello

we used to use an old KPT Vector Effects program in either Illustrator
7 or 6 that had a very easy to use, and very effective bevel and
emboss pre-sets.

I've not been able to find anything like it anywhere since. Bevel and
Extrude is ok but not quite as good.

Does anyone know of a third party plug in, or an illustraotr tutorial,
that provides simple but good pure vector bevels and embossing?
