Hi There IllyPeeps
I've had a request from a client to re-colour their logo for 3 colour
print runs (it may be for signs). Keeping in mind that digital print
runs even on corflute can be just as economical nowadays, but the
client wants, so the client gets...
I have only used 2 colours as this is close enough to the original:
PMS1807C and PMS Process Black C. I placed the image into an InDesign
do***ent to run a Preflight to check colour use and it keeps coming up
with 4 process colours and one Pantone colour.
As far as I can see, the 4 colours are from using the Process Black.
There are gradients and drop shadows in the logo, but only using the
PMS Black swatch (can this cause the problem??) and a feather on the
cast shadow (maybe this is the problem??). The entire logo is also
reflected underneath which uses an opacity mask to fade out (perhaps
this is the culprit??).
When I delete all the items using the Black I get a single colour in
the preflight. I really don't know why it's using other colours.
Please help!!
***I would also like to ask if anyone has had any experience with
transparency problems on spot colours. Thank you for your advice.
