I've been with USAA since '81, for Home and Auto..
And even USAA tries a few dirty tricks with me. But I got my settlement
without going to court, but I had to holler and make a nusance out of
myself first. :-)

I can't afford to go back to the beach, (lived there for 25 years) codes

(which they should) but contractors are raping everyone to build to
these codes. Which
in the real world isn't any more labor intensive than they always had to

My CIL is one of the lucky ones - they finally paid to have her roof
fixed (it was completely torn off in Charles, repairs begun and then

there is such a thing).
Not to rub it in, but we have USAA, and their rates only went up a tiny
bit (about $9 a month). So I guess we're pretty lucky. But then, USAA
only insures a small segment of the population - the commissioned
officers in the Military, so I don't think their bottom line is as
absolute as others who are open to the public.
