My CIL is one of the lucky ones - they finally paid to have her roof
fixed (it was completely torn off in Charles, repairs begun and then
retorn off in Ivan). They finally ponied up about 6 weeks ago. And she
was supposed to have had one of the *good* insurance companies (as if
there is such a thing).

Not to rub it in, but we have USAA, and their rates only went up a tiny
bit (about $9 a month). So I guess we're pretty lucky. But then, USAA
only insures a small segment of the population - the commissioned
officers in the Military, so I don't think their bottom line is as
absolute as others who are open to the public. 

We're also insured up to the eyeballs - not that it would mean a damn
thing if they decided to drag their heels or outright not pay.  I have
taken pictures (regularly updated) of EVERYTHING. Mere XBox controller?
Yep. I have it recorded and photoed. If we end up getting hit, I'm
going to get every last dime that I'm entitled to!
