Painter Cloning and Deep Paint

by "Henry" <henrytj@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Apr 28, 2005 at 05:11 PM

I used to be an avid Painter fan. That was up to version 5. Hated the
version 6 interface, not to mention all its bugs. I returned 6 and never
upgraded past version 5. Started using PS extensively after that. Hardly
touch my Painter 5 now.

What I am asking is this. Right Hemisphere makes (or made) a Painter-like
PS
plug-in called Deep Paint. Not as good as I remember Painter being in many
respects, but version 2 of the plug-in had a cloning feature I have not
seen
an any other paint software. In DP's cloning process the program
automatically makes some form of edge masks and somehow clips the brush
dabs
to stay within that boundry. For example, when cloning a ****trait, the
flesh
tone dabs stay within the boundry of the flesh tones automatically. I love
this feature. One can quickly scub in a painting without having to do
manual
masking or selectng of areas.

However, RH is dropping DP. I am wondering if new versions of painter have
a
similar feature.
