Problems with postscript output seps on coreldraw persist

by "Peter Richards" <peterr@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 1, 2008 at 06:52 PM

I don't see an X4 forum yet, but I want to share this with the community
because it's persisted since Corel 12 and through x3 and now x4.

While x4 sup****ts better PDF format im****t, here's my issue on output.

First of all, when I tried to output a 32 page do***ent that is spot color
with some duotone images in it, the pdf file output contained many RGB
formated images for some reason.
However when I output this SAME do***ent to PRN file and run it through
Distiller 8, I get a PDF file that
is properly separated for the most part.

So the difference there is issue one, but the biggest issue I have is
this:

Images that are im****ted and resized are crapping out the pdf by taking
images marked as grayscale, and ex****ting them as RGB images with colors
on
the MYC plates.

I have discovered that this happens when the images have odd dpis. A
simple
resize gets you something like 501 x 402 dpi, right. So, if I do a
convert
to bitmap, select grayscale
again, and then set the dpi in both directions to 266 for my print job,
voila. it works and properly separates
the image.

WHY!!?? I can reproduce this religiously. so if someone from corel wants
to contact me, I'll give you the files I use to repro this.

Peter
