Hi there
I am sorta new to Corel. I had used it years ago, and now need to revisit.
My background is really photo editing, and web graphics and my expertise
is
in Photoshop. So trying to apply bitmap logic to vector creation is
creating
a brain gap.
Here are my initial 2 dilemmas
1. I want to create a vector based LOGO that has that I can create in
Corel
and ex****t to.ai format. In that logo I need an orange ring, that has an
empty center so I can thread a state map thru it, and have part of it
hidden. I want the center (empty) area of the ring/circle to be white and
the outer ring to be orange, with a green state map of Florida sorta
threaded thru the ring. I can create the orange cirlce, adn fill it. I can
overlap a white circle to "look" like its an empty center, but because its
not really an empty hole, the state map cannot thread thru it. In applying
photoshop logic, I should be able to select the inner part of the circle,
and just cut or delete it, but thats apparantly not working in Corel,
Any Ideas here?
2. Text on a path. I want some words on the upper part of the ring, and
other words on the lower part. The words on the lower part I dont want
upside down, but readng left to right on the bottom part. I can do that,
using 2 circles, with the Place on Other Side option, of the Text on a
Path
tool. BUT, my problem is HOW to get them accurately lined up. I have tried
it with 2 circles, then changing the placement, but it always looks NOT
perfect.
Any Ideas here?
Thanks in advance to any gurus out here who want to take pity on an OLD
Photo Shop gal ;)
