Looking for primer on lightening images / transparency

by lcc <les.cseh@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 24, 2007 at 10:13 AM

Hi .. I have a wide variety of images that I need to "lighten" so
that
they can be used as backgrounds, with other printing on top.

I am pretty much a beginner using products such as Corel Photo Paint
v12, and after playing with transparency and contrast/brightness/
intensity, I am convinced that better results (more of the color
would
be retained) must be possible with the right procedure.

Can anyone recommend a good primer on this topic?

Thanks in advance,

Les
